Unemployment drops

The unemployment rate dropped from 9% to 8.6% in November. This is the biggest decreased the U.S. has seen since the start of the recession. In class, we discussed how people became weary of employment and wage during the Great Depression, which caused them to consume less. Although there are other factors coming along with the U.S. recession, the big drop in unemployment rate should pump up spirits and hopefully increase consumption. The reporter did mention that if we see people consuming this holiday season, such as putting up lights, then this drop in employment rate is for real.
