In the news the authors discusses unequal wage distribution as it is becoming a very important political discussion for both political parties. She also notes that it’s larger now then anytime in the past twenty five years and larger then classically corrupt countries like Russia and Iran. She further theorizes that this can be a positive movement as it serves as a strong motivation for hard work while at the same time risking social upheaval by those on the low end. She also mentions the concern that people with an enormous amount of money and power could be able to unduly influence the democratic process.
