Dock Union Told to Diversify

In the following article the New York Shipping Association faces much scrutiny due to racial discrimination. After being pressured by the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor to submit a racially diverse pool of candidates for temporary jobs, their submitted list consisted of 36 white men and 1 black man, who didn’t want the job. President of the shipping association will now be in the hot seat at upcoming court hearings. More than 100 years after the Civil War we still do not see black-white equality in our economy.
