Euro Struggling, Recovery or Disaster Ahead?

EU leaders are trying to take action to ensure confidence in the Euro, which if not successful could result in a global crisis. Obviously not on the gold standard, exchange rates are fluctuating, and confidence that the currency's value will not sharply drop is essential towards not only the economic health of the participating countries, but the global economy as well. New rule and regulations are likely to be imposed, especially limits on countries with overly high budget deficits. Decades ago England experienced speculation problems about the pound's potential devaluation that eventually led its abandonment of the gold standard; today's floating currency faces constant value changes, much of which is based on long term confidence.
