According to this Los Angeles Times article, the state with the fewest number of native born residents in Nevada, with 24%. Many of those who moved there were seeking out the “Vegas Dream,” lured by cheap housing and low-skill level jobs. Now Nevada has led the nation in joblessness since 2010. Moving isn’t an option for many homeowners who are underwater, owing more on their mortgages than their homes are now worth.
