In the news, the author talks about the facts that in the recent century, women did everything they can to prepare themselves to a professional careers. Stats did show that the number of women who entered the the industry like law, medicine and politics keeps increasing in the past decades. However, they are still having hard time to reach to the top position. Once they get promoted to a somewhat higher position than the average, it is less likely that they will be promoted again to the top. The author explained that the reason can be numerous. The major one are due to the family concern. Even though women did delay their marriage age in order to have better post-graduate training that prepare them for a better career. Some women are afraid that if they delay their marriage really late, it may be difficult for them to catch up later. Therefore, having the anxiety of potential failure of having a family, many women decided to start a family at the peak of their career. As a result, it discourage them to go for a higher position in their career. Government should take actions to solve this kind of dilemma for women.
