Ron Paul Says “Reject the Welfare State”

While many Americans are calling for a socialized healthcare system, Ron Paul is pulling the opposite direction. Not only does he oppose the creation of a larger, more complete bureaucratic system of healthcare for all, he would like to remove many other facets of welfare currently in place by the government. Of course, this transition would be carefully thought-out, as to avoid disaster. Paul’s main point is that the current welfare system is inefficient and it would be imprudent of us to assume that a larger system would be fiscally responsible. On a larger scale, Paul says, “Only a rejection of the view that Congress can run the economy, run our lives, and run the world will allow us to make the spending reductions necessary to avert a serious financial crisis.”
