Birth Control Pill and the Workforce

The article illustrated the idea of the birth control pill and its effects on improving the lives of women today. It was approved in 1960 by the FDA. This article centers on a poll that includes the public’s idea of whether the birth control pill has made a positive effect on the lives of women and men as well. For almost every topic, more than half the public agrees with the pill being a positive thing. From lecture, we learned that the pill came about from an increasing in technology and it was what prompted the expectation change and behavioral change of women. They no longer had to make the choice between investing in a sexual relationship or in themselves; they could have both; this lead to higher college enrollment and an increase in the supply of women skilled labor. It is something that not only benefits the individual, but the society in its entirety.
