Occupy Wall Street Movement

In the most recent months, a great movement known as the Occupy Wall Street movement has swept the nation. This movement is led by middle class Americans, the 99%, that feel they are misrepresented and overrun by the elite 1% of America. They feel their representatives in public office are not tending to their needs and are only working for their personal agendas and reelections. The goal of the Occupy Wall Street movement is to reduce the inequality between the elite and middle class America. They want to achieve this goal through changes in taxes such as taxing a certain income level and raising taxes on the rich. This newly established movement of Occupy Wall Street goes hand in hand with our discussion of income inequality in class.
