For sometime now women have made up the majority of students pursuing degrees. On the flip side, however these college degrees does not necessarily mean better job opportunities for women. The degrees in humanities and health are dominated by women whereas degrees in math and engineering are dominated by women. Because of the drastic rise in technology, math and engineering degrees are in higher demand especially in tech industries, which usually pay very generously.
Another interesting note is that although women may have pulled ahead in undergraduate numbers, they still make up only about a third of the students in MBA programs - usual route to senior corporate jobs.
