Income Disparity in America

In class, we discussed why some countries become rich while other countries become poor. In this article, the author discusses the income inequality in the United States of America. Some data in the article reveals that the wages of the low-skilled rose modestly while the wages of the mid-skilled rose only light. However, the wages of the high-skilled rose significantly. Of the United States, Japan, Canada, France and United Kingdom, the US has the highest share of the top 0.1% wealth share of the country. To cap of the article, the author shows us a graph of the top marginal tax rates in America, a depiction that easily shows the added wealth in the hands of the few. The widened the gap between the disposable income of the rich and the poor in America.
