To Afghanistan, on the slow train

This article talks about the poor conditions in Afghanistan, in which the US has developed alternative railroad routes for corrupted, sabotaged, and cut land routes. This article touches up on a few subjects in class. Firstly, it shows the effectiveness of transporting goods in inner lands from countries to countries via railroads. Although the cost of implementing railroads is high, the benefit analysis at this point is life and death from the delivery of sustainable goods by trains. Secondly, the article touches up on the status of the developing countries, such as Afghanistan. We know that this country has been through a great deal the last few decades, and although still poor compared to developed countries, this article points to progress and growth. With the introduction of rails and trains, Afghanistan could begin a new infrastructure project, as well as better its country as a whole.
