Increasing Worker Efficiency in the 21st Century

As we learned in class, slave agriculture and factories were very successful because of their ability to increase work efficiency. We even see these techniques implemented today. But today, I want to talk about the various ways companies use to increase worker efficiency in modern times. Recently, companies have offered plenty of perks like health insurance, paid sick days, and other benefits. Some companies even have nap rooms and gourmet foods for their employees. But this article shows some companies goes against the trend by restricting the use of email. I believe this will infuriate employees because nobody likes to be told what not to do. In addition, this ban is not justified as only 18% of emails received are spam. This means most emails are sent to increase the productivity and efficiency of workers.
