China's Women 46% Its Labor Force
Women in China make up 49% of its population and 46% of its labor force, a higher proportion than several Western countries. Moreover, China also has a higher proportion of women in the top layers of management. These jobs are popular with Chinese women due to shorter hours and more routine hours than the private sector. China has an astounding 29 million female entrepreneurs, a quarter of the nations' total. 7/14 women on last year's Forbes worldwide list of self-made billionaires were from China.
